Koakh Senyati

Koakh Senyati has lived in Ghana all his life . He's been been exposed to art since birth through Frederick Oko Matey, who he claims made the way.

To many observers the works are profound reflections of the human experience; syntheses of dualities, gently nudging introspection and perception. The works convey both control and surrender; Refinement and decay; creative reconstruction, experimentation, collaboration, consequences from evolution; multi dimensional movement; aspiration.

The process of creation starts with surrender, he allows access to himself, an authority he is yet to understand. This presence, which we can refer to as the "other," takes hold of the initial creative process, imbuing his work with a sense of unpredictability and rawness. The power tools for cutting and routing become an extension of this bond. This relationship became clear from 2015 and intensified from 2019 when he embarked on the "First Voyage series" a project in its 5th year .It's clear that each work is different yet there is an unmistakable signature . The resulting art from this interaction with the "other" invites us to embrace the unknown and tap into the primal forces that drive us.

To call my self an artist is a title I am simply trying to graft onto, because I feel myself more of as a sophisticated equipment, more like a vessel receiving something from somewhere, I don't think I have seen enough to say I am motivated or pushed to work based on visual interactions from outside I will admit that closeness to FredKo really equipped me ,financed me but then you know you are getting signals from somewhere... and once you engage you succumb, you destroy in orderly fashion to achieve aesthetic complexity initially nd then to finally analyze nd the work of art as an observer... it is at this point that I am in control, it is at this point that i judge, it is at this point that I try to make sense...
